First cycle (in the gym) November 30, 2008
Posted by alextrihard CycleI used a varied program on a gym bike at level 6 and managed to keep a steady effort throughout. My heart rate kept going quite high up to 182 bpm but i’m not too worried as I think I just have a fast heart beat and I didn’t feel too uncomfortable.
My goal is to buy myself a road bike in the new year and in the meantime use the gym bikes to strengthen my legs in preparation!!

First swim November 27, 2008
Posted by alextrihard SwimJust wanted to see if I could freestyle 500m without warm up. And I could! I know it’s best to warm up first but on the day of the tri, I don’t know if I’ll get chance. I nearly died after first 5 lengths (125 m) but settled down nicely and wasn’t over exerted at the end.
